the dragon ....

After so very long holding on to the Uber Cup, the Chinese finally had to let go as the South Korean girls gave their all to take home the prestigious cup. It was a well deserved win for them. At least now most of us can agree that you can beat the Chinese if you work hard enough.

However, as for the Thomas Cup, well they Great wall is just to strong, and as much as you do not want to admit, Lin Dan and gang are just too good. The Indonesian were no match just like our squad as they got squash by the same margin, 3-0.

Well what can we learn from them and the South Korean???

Badminton ...

How sad can you be ...

The Uber Cup squad being squash by the Indonesian and the Thomas Cup squad, did not even come close. Totally outplayed by the Badminton superpowers. Today the South Korean will try to take home the Uber Cup from China, as the Indonesian try their luck against the Chinese.

May the best team wins.

As for our team ... back to the drawing board, but whatever they decide, it should be for the good of badminton in general, look at short term, mid term and long term in total. Since there's been so much talk about KPI and NKRA, BAM and the MSN/Sport Ministry should be more forward looking.

Thomas Cup - Uber Cup 2010

The finals this year is set at Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.

We last won the prestigious cup way back 1n 1992, wow that is what ... 18 years ago. As long as the players took the game seriously, and make sure make the least mistake, their chances is as good as anyone that they meet. Before this format of play, you get points for how well you create points when you hold serve, or the mistakes your opponent makes. Now, you get points on your winning shots and your opponents mistakes, no matter who serves. We are just as good, if not better provided we believed in ourself.

Yet to win the Uber Cup, but ever since the competition, we have one of the better teams for such a long, long while. Our chances are always better when it comes to the Thomas Cup though.

Just do not give any excuses ... the H1N1 or whatever, just go out and do it.

Okay .. go for it guys. We wants the cup to stay he ... in Malaysia.

Good luck.
