The right game to choose

Off all the games played today, which one should one choose. More so here in Malaysia, the Education Minister has decided that come next year 2011, all school going students must play at least 1 sport. For the general group, it should not be a problem, however, for those who are quite active and athletic this could be a situation of choice.

Football also known as soccer in the US, is one sport that attracts crowd as well as write up. The FIFA World Cup is one event that equals probably the Olympics.

However, not all can excel in the game but even more so, if you think that you are good enough, compared to others you are not even close. The example are here in Malaysia, just yesterday the best of Malaysian League Selangor FC got thrash by Sriwijaya, Indonesia by 6-1.

So even if you like Football so much ... how far can you go???

Table Tennis or Ping Pong

Well does it matter ?

I enjoy this game, in fact both my wife and are quite good (not competition level though) at it, and now we are getting our children to learn the game. Its a low investment a, table, 2 to 4 bats, a net and some balls and you are set. The game is not as easy as it seems, but it is quite easy to learn if you are consistent.

Now this is a game that most people can get involved and who knows by 2020 Olympic Games, we can have a solid representation.

I am game ... are you???

Racquet Sports

Racquet sports are divided into at least 5 known games. Tennis, Badminton, Squash, Table Tennis or also known also as Ping Pong and Racquet Ball.

Except for Tennis that are considered major sports because the American excel, the rest are considered quite a mediocre sports or game. However, all this game except Squash and Racquet Ball, are an Olympic sports.Squash are working their way and IOC might consider it as an exhibition game comes 2016 or latest maybe 2020.

Therefore if we consider this sport, it might be worth our while to seriously develop it.

Good By Beijing ... Hello London

24th August 2008 ... Curtain came down in Beijing.
The 2008 Olympics drew an estimated television audience of 4.4 billion in the first 10 days, setting a new viewing record for an Olympic Games, market research firm Nielsen said on Sunday. The estimated audience from Aug 8-17 surpassed the 3.9 billion viewers for the whole of the Athens Games in 2004 and 3.6 billion who watched the 2000 event in Sydney, the company said in a press release.
In an earlier report, Nielsen estimated that almost one third of the world's population - a little over 2 billion - watched the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics.
It said the highest audience reach for the opening ceremony was in the Asia-Pacific, where more than five in 10 people tuned in, followed by Europe, where 30% of the population watched, and North America, at 24%
